Just Email Me Part 1
Today was our first full day out of the hospital and before you know it we already had our first check in with the pediatrician this morning. Charlie had looked a little yellow and the Dr. didn't want to wait. They said if Brooke just keeps feeding like she has been we will be golden good to go. We also had our first trip out. Brooke and I needed some items from Target and Charlie slept the entire time. Brooke was a little nervous about the first adventure out into the real world but with some confidence we made it through the day.
Charlie hasn't had a good night so far. She is doing a great job feeding but we're thinking she might be colicky and we didn't get her to sleep until 2:30am. Brooke and I tried to have one night of sleeping in the same bed but tried to get a quick nap in and that wasn't happening with an upset baby and Jay Leno playing in the background. That guy sucks. So I finally got everyone asleep around 2:45pm including my dog Midas. He's back and he is either just curious or concerned that she is crying. I knew he would be okay.
Well just email me when it's suppose to get easier. Part 2 tomorrow or really later today.
Pillow Bomber
I totally did this when I was a kid. I would get all of the pillows in the house and bring them to the living room and see if I could maybe hurt myself somehow but never pushed it too far.

A few things that get me excited about Wisconsin
Fixed Gear Cycling in Wiscosin
An Amazing Local Brewery right here in Madison, WI. The breweries in Madison, WI alone was the reason I was excited to come to Madison. Chicago doesn't really have too much unless you went to a few specific bars. Our Local brews are in every bar because if you don't have them people won't come to your bar.

Just Sit Down
Charlize Everly James Calkins x 11/9/2010 x 8lbs 1oz x 19.5 inches
My Dad Mustache 1.2oz
aka Charlie.
@Brooke_Ashley's water broke around 10:30pm and we headed to the hospital at 1am. We were already scheduled for an induction because she was 42w2d. We beat you induction!
What a crazy trip. 9 hours of labor with no drugs. She was only at 5 centimeters and not making any progress at after nine hours of labor. All natural. We did the right thing when going into labor. Know your options, have any open mind, and know that this your story and no one else's. Know that you want to do it a certain way but KNOW that it could change. We didn't want to be like every other Mother that told us "GET THE EPIDURAL!" and "GOOD LUCK" Thanks for the encouragement.
So we wanted to speed it up(avoid a C Section later on because she was exhausted) and got the epidural and and the patosin(sp?) and everything just happened right after that. Brooke pushed for about 20 minutes and there was my beautiful baby girl.
For the record, the nurse didn't make me sit down because I almost passed out and I didn't start crying when she was born. There was some placenta in my eye. ;)
We are home now. Life is great! Everyone is sleeping except me at 4am. I had already got my midnight nap session. Thanks Brookie. You're going to be the best Momma. <3

Oh dear! Oh dear!
We are now a week late. If any of you know me I am a planner and I hate being late for anything. Sometimes I tell Brooke we need to be ready and gone by 9:30am because deep down inside I know we don't need to be ready and gone until 10:00am. That's how I plan.
With this baby not coming on time it is messing up my day to day life. I have been having to work weird hours and I haven't been scheduled to work but still have to work because I was given off for the baby that is not here yet. It is hard to go in and be mentally ready for work when you don't really have to be there. Ruff life.
Tomorrow we have another appointment and hopefully they can wave their medical wand and get this little girls butt through the rabbit hole.

F#$K Crocs!
These are called Native Shoes. They make them for Adults too. I understand that it's probably easy for kids to wear Crocs and easy to buy them at your local dollar store but seriously. Your kid looks like a huge doof with his Mickey Mouse Crocs and his Dora the Explorer shirt. With this shoe I want parents everywhere to give their children a chance to be cool once on the playground and at least be the kid to have something before everyone elses kid. These are great shoes. I can hear it now from the other kids on the playground. "But CJ has them!"

Cinco De Mustache
Hi,
This Movember I’ve decided to donate my face to raising awareness about cancers that affect men. My commitment is the growth of a moustache for the entire month of Movember, which I know will generate conversation, controversy and laughter.
I’m doing this because:
· 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in his lifetime
· 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime
This is a cause that I feel passionately about and I’m asking you to support my efforts by making a donation to support the great work of the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG. To help, you can either:
- Click this link http://us.movember.com/mospace/715746/ and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account
- Write a check payable to Movember, referencing my name or Registration Number 715746 and mailing it to: Movember, PO Box 2726, Venice, CA 90294-2726
The money raised will help make a tangible difference to the lives of others, through the world’s most promising prostate cancer research and LIVESTRONG’s programs that support young adults and their families battling and surviving cancer.
For more details on how the funds raised from previous campaigns have been used and the impact Movember is having please visit

Thank you.
